Roy Evans: Liverpool Spending Suggests Raheem Sterling Deal Is Done

Roy Evans says that Liverpool's dealings in the transfer market so far this summer strongly suggest a deal to sell Raheem Sterling is done.
The wantaway winger has been the subject of two bids from Manchester City, which were rejected - the last offer being for £40million, with Liverpool are holding out for £50m.
Liverpool have signed Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, James Milner and Joe Gomez already this summer, while they also sealed a £29m deal for Brazil star Roberto Firmino.

Sterling has already rejected a new contract at Anfield, worth £100,000-a-week, and Chelsea were thought to be interested in him, but will not match Liverpool's asking price.
Manchester City, however, appear to be more inclined to sign the 20-year-old, particularly with a need to increase the number of homegrown players in their squad. 
Evans says he doesn't think Liverpool would have spent big this summer if a deal to sell Sterling was not done
Evans, who was appointed Liverpool manager in 1994 before leaving in November 1998 after an unsuccessful attempt to power-share with Gerard Houllier at the start of the 1998-99 season, believes a deal to take Sterling away from Anfield is already done. 



'I don't think they would be spending the amount of money they have if they didn't think was already a done deal to somewhere,' he added.
