British Touring Car racer Sam Tordoff has pulled out of his upcoming event after being left 'devastated' by the passing of his baby boy, just days after birth.
The AmD Essex driver, 30, has withdraw from the BTCC race at Knockhill, Fife, and will take time away from the sport to grieve.
Tordoff's wife, Georgina, last week gave birth to a young boy, Arlo George.

Complications however meant the youngster tragically lost his life due to underdeveloped kidneys which could not be treated.

A statement was issued via social media, in which Tordoff and his team explained his heartbreak and confirmed to his fans he would not be participating in the upcoming race.

'My wife Georgina and I are heartbroken to say that our beautiful baby boy, Arlo George, passed away peacefully on Saturday.
'After arriving safely on Monday, 2nd September, it transpired that his kidneys were not formed properly.

Sadly no cure or treatment could save him.
