But after disappearing from Walford, little did he know that Linda was pregnant with his baby - with the majority of the Brannings - including Lauren -  still unaware that little Annie is Max's child.

With Lauren back on the scene, Linda is understandably on edge over Lauren potentially learning her bombshell baby news.

Lauren's comeback to Albert Square comes after she left for a new life in New Zealand with son Louie in 2018, following the death of her sister Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald).
Speaking on her character's return, actress Jacqueline said: 'She's still the same old Lauren, but maybe grown up a little bit!

It's set to be an emotional time in Albert Square as the residents of Walford join together to say goodbye to Dot Cotton at her funeral.

And now sad images of the character's funeral have been revealed as for the much-loved launderette worker. 
In preview images, an emotional Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is seen supported by returning character Colin Russell (Lord Michael Cashman CBE) as they walk behind the hearse ahead of the iconic character being laid to rest.

As well as Sharon and Colin, other characters seen in snaps include James Farrar as Zack Hudson, Frankie Day as Ricky Mitchell and Diane Parish as Denise Fox.
While other characters including Kim Fox (Tameka Empson), Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) and Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) are also in attendance. 
Moving images also see a host of characters line the streets as the black horse-drawn funeral carriage makes its way past the pub, through the market and around Albert Square. 
In October, veterans turned out in force for Dot's funeral, with a slew of former cast members seen filming the emotional scenes.

The huge turnout was led by who was seen on set for the first time as she reprised her role of Lauren Branning, along with returning characters 'Lofty' Holloway (Tom Watt), Colin, Barry Clark (Gary Hailes), Mary 'the punk' Smith (Linda Davidson) and Disa O'Brien (Jan Graveson).
The actress, 29, was also joined by veteran EastEnders stars, Letitia and Gillian Taylforth, who plays Kathy Beale, as much of the soap's cast were in attendance for Dot's final farewell.
The beloved character of Dot left the show in January 2020 to go to Ireland with her grandson Charlie.

She portrayed the role of Dot for 35 years, and was part of the Branning clan after marrying character Jim Branning in 2002. 
Speaking on why it was important to have significant people from Dot's past return, show, Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw said in a statement: 'It's an honour to invite so many of Walford's beloved characters back to pay tribute to Dot. 
'Over the years, Dot profoundly impacted the lives of many young people struggling with life's biggest challenges.

Her warmth, heart and compassion changed lives - so we wanted to reunite some of the people she helped the most. 
'I'm thrilled these talented and generous actors wanted to share this special experience with us so we can give Dot a fitting send-off.'
