To create bamboo salt, sea salt is first placed into bamboo tubes with a size around 10 cm. After that, the bamboo tubes are sealed with yellow clay, which is highly alkaline, and then roasted for eight times at a temperature of approximately 1,000ºC. The roasting process will take around a couple of weeks to perform, during which time the salt becomes highly alkaline and is considered to be infused with the minerals from the bamboo plant. The resulting product is just a hard and dark salt cube, which in turn ground into fine powder for consumption.
