When the internet first started, or first came into the general consciousness of many people in America it was not much of anything. I can remember playing some very rudimentary games in accordance with the Nickelodeon tv program The Secret World of Alex Mack. I remember reading some really terrible articles about some of my favorite bands. But mostly, I remember being nonplussed about the whole thing. What was this thing going to do for me other than have me hunched over a desk reading low quality junk?

Well obviously the jury is no longer out on the internet and we all now and seemingly will forever live on the web. It has made communication easier but in addition fundamentally different. The same could be said about shopping and researching subjects of interest. It has made a wealth and number of entertainment completely free. This last one is likely the largest shift for me personally as well as for a number of people I know as well. The reason being things such as the movie theater begin to lose their luster whenever you find that you may watch free watching full series online movies online. It becomes hard to rationalize the $12 price tag most theaters are charging right now whenever you might get new free movies online. Not that the largeness of the theater will not have its charms. If I can watch documentaries online, like those created by PBS, why would I bother having a television let alone paying ever rising cable costs?

The Net is a vast wonderland of entertainment available any time you want it with little to learn cost at all. There is a bad element to all of this as always, mostly which it is now increasingly difficult for artists and entertainers to get paid for the work that they are doing. Still there is an upside also. With the ease it takes to put funny videos online or your weird short films online nearly anybody can release their work as well as have it seen by a wide variety of men and women. As a result people are prepared to check out things they might not have seen back once they were seriously considering the way to best utilize their precious entertainment money.

I think at this point it is best for the entire world to check out a great deal of distinct things on the internet from free indie films to short films, but to also take the leap and hit up the theater every now and again or maybe occasionally buy a DVD. This seems like the very best way to keep the films I want coming and keep myself informed.
